Object Appearance Search

Searching for a person or vehicle of interest is a crucial part of post-event investigations. YourSix’s Object Appearance Search enables users to search device footage for objects like vehicles and humans, including specific attributes such as a person wearing a red shirt. This capability is available to users at no additional cost! Object Appearance Search is located under “Forensics” along the top menu. To support this feature, devices must meet the following requirements.

Results

Search results will be displayed as thumbnails on the screen, each featuring a timestamp and relevant attributes such as score and color. Clicking on a thumbnail will open a larger pop-up window that shows an enlarged image, along with options to view the result in the matrix (video of the result) or to search for similar results. To review footage of the event, a recording rule must be in place. Object Appearance Search is not a substitute for recording rules.

Additionally, a timeline bar at the bottom of the screen will indicate when the results appear within the selected date range.

Enable Object Appearance Search

To ensure a device appears in the search field, it must fulfill the requirements mentioned above and have the feature enabled on the device management page, found within the “Optional Features” section.
