Deep learning & Machine learning

Deep learning is a subset of artificial intelligence that is part of machine learning. Unlike traditional machine learning, deep learning can work with less structured data and needs minimal human oversight after its initial setup. Moreover, deep learning supports more complex applications that involve decision-making and learning with little to no human input.

AXIS Communications Deep Learning

AXIS Object Analytics:

This AI-driven analytics suite converts video into meaningful insights. It can simultaneously handle various scenarios on the edge, including detecting, classifying, tracking, and counting people and vehicles. It’s pre-installed on compatible Axis network cameras, enabling live video processing and analysis directly on the camera without requiring costly servers.

Deep Learning Processing Unit (DLPU)

Some Axis Communications devices come with a DLPU designed to enhance model execution, resulting in much faster inference times compared to the CPU. The level of speed improvement depends on how well the model is optimized. Cameras that include the ARTPEC-8 chip and DLPU enable third parties to integrate advanced deep learning applications and analytics directly on the camera.
