Enrolling Devices

Training Videos: Adding a Device

Requirements

      • MAC Address (Serial number): Printed on the device and on the piece of paper in the box with the device
      • OAK (Owner Authentication Key): Printed on the piece of paper in the box with the device or can be found via the device interface
      • Confirm the device is supported: Supported Devices & Firmware
      • Review Network & Communication requirements
      • Permissions: Adding a device can only be performed by YourSix or an authorized integrator

Before Enrollment

      • Confirm the device has up to date firmware. If out of date, then update devices to the latest Axis OS LTS track. If no LTS track is available for the model, then update to the latest active track. While updating the firmware, it is ideal to also set the O3C setting to “always”.
      • If the device is not new, please factory reset the device by holding down the control button while plugging the camera into its power source. Continue to hold the control button for 15 seconds until the status LED flashes amber and then release the button. The process is complete once the status LED turns green for a moment.

Enrollment

Enrollment can be performed via the browser application or mobile application. The mobile application allows for the use of OCR (optical character recognition) to scan the piece of paper that contains the MAC and OAK which reduces the requirement to manually type in the information. (Adding a Device Using the Y6OS Mobile App)

      1. Enroll device in YourSixOS
      2. After a device is enrolled into YourSixOS, then the device must be prompted to connect. There are 2 options for completing this.
            1. Physically on device: On the device, press and hold the control button for 3 seconds until the indicator light flashes and then release the button. The device should connect within 1 minute.
            2. Remotely: within the device interface set the O3C setting to “always”. (Note: you may have completed this during the firmware update or when retrieving the OAK). The device will automatically connect.

After Enrollment

      • After a device has been enrolled to the platform, a recording rule must be setup in order for footage to be recorded.
